Change Wisconsin's Illegal Minimum Wage!

Poverty wages should be against the law — and in Wisconsin, they are. According to state law, the minimum wage must be a living wage. Right now, it's $7.25/hour.

The wage needed to keep a family out of poverty was $11.36/hour in 2013. $7.25 doesn’t even come close — and there are 700,000 workers in Wisconsin who make poverty wages.

We recently helped over 100 worker activists plead their case that $7.25 is not enough to live on, employing a unique law in Wisconsin that states that the minimum wage must be a living wage. Less than two weeks later, the Gov. Scott Walker’s administration said they found "no reasonable cause" to raise the minimum wage.

This past Election Day, voters in 13 cities and counties in Wisconsin passed non-binding referendums supporting a raise to $10.10.

Now we need you to add your support for raising the wage in ALL of Wisconsin — because $7.25 is simply not enough for anyone to live on.
To whom it may concern:

Wisconsin state law requires that minimum wage be a "living wage," but no one can live on $7.25 an hour.

I support raising the minimum wage for Wisconsin workers!
