Help Stop Dog Experiments at Wayne State University

Right now, dogs are suffering through deadly heart failure experiments at Wayne State University in Detroit. They need your help!

First, experimenters surgically implant medical devices in the dogs' bodies. After two surgeries, cables and wires are protruding from the backs of the dogs. Then, they are forced to run on treadmills while heart failure is artificially induced. Many dogs die during the experiments –– if not, they're killed a few months later when they're deemed no longer "useful" to experimenters. This has been going on for more than 25 years.

Innocent dogs don't deserve to suffer and die like this. And the experiments have led to no advances for people suffering from heart failure. Please help stop this cruelty by taking action now.

Sign the petition below to the president of Wayne State University. Urge him to stop these outrageous dog experiments now!

To: M. Roy Wilson, M.D., President of Wayne State University

Please halt the cruel and unnecessary heart failure experiments being conducted on dogs at Wayne State University. These experiments haven't led to any benefits for people and are killing innocent dogs in the process.

I urge you to switch to more effective, animal-free, human-based studies. Epidemiological studies, such as the Framingham Study and Methodist Study, continue to give researchers insight into the causes of heart failure, while human clinical trials provide treatment and prevention options.

As the president of Wayne State University, the fate of these animals is in your hands. Please act wisely and compassionately — stop experimenting on dogs!

Sincerely,
