Tell President Biden to restore U.S. refugee admissions

President Biden has already taken important steps towards rebuilding the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. On February 4, he signed an executive order directing the rebuild and expansion of the program. Soon after, his administration sent a report to Congress outlining their proposal for a vastly improved admissions goal of 62,500 refugees this fiscal year – a life-saving increase over the current limit of 15,000.

Unfortunately, a crucial final step, making many of these changes official through the signing of a Presidential Determination, has not been completed.

As a result, hundreds of refugees have had their resettlement travel plans cancelled and are being forced to wait in increasingly distressing and precarious situations. The only person who can right the course is President Biden.

Join the International Rescue Committee as we urge the President to sign the Presidential Determination. People fleeing war and persecution should not have to wait a moment longer for the chance at new hope, security, and reunification with their families. Our team works alongside our supporters to fight for policies that deliver real change for the people we serve.
