Just 5 Republicans Could Stop Trump Right Now. No Need to Wait

Republicans in Congress admit it in private: Donald Trump is dangerous, unstable, and out of control.  But in public, they've done nothing. Here's their chance.

If just 4 or 5 House Republicans switched to caucus with Democrats, Democrats would immediately control the House — and could start blocking Trump right now. Not next year. Not after the midterms. Now.

GOP Speaker Mike Johnson has turned the House into a rubber stamp for Trump. But with real adults back in charge, tools the House already has could be used -- oversight, subpoenas, and funding holds, etc. 

This isn't impossible. Nineteen House Republicans sit in districts Biden won. They are vulnerable, and with Trump's approval rating plummeting by the day, he's grown truly toxic in swing districts. It may be time for the rats to flee the sinking ship.

But we need to ratchet up the pressure to make it happen.
