Each year, nearly 7 million children under 5 years of age die from diseases, while over 500,000 women die in childbirth annually; yet most of these deaths are preventable.

The health of women and children lies at the heart of Project HOPE's programs, which is why we're donating $100 of medical supplies for every signature on this pledge.

We teach mothers and caregivers proper prenatal care, how to keep infants and children healthy, and when to seek care at a health facility. We also work to build the skills of health care workers to ensure high quality services at all levels.

Training and education help create long term healthcare solutions and prevent future emergencies, but we still often treat acute medical crises. We can help — but only if each and every one of us makes a commitment to act.
