Christians for Environmental Responsibility

This petition is in support of those desiring, praying for a grassroots movement for Christian families, guardians and mentors, educators and schools, churches and organizations, leaders, public figures and politicians to include environmental stewardship in their studies, sermons, forums, mission statements, outreaches and public platforms.

God's Word, from Genesis to Revelation, reveals His creative plan and the responsibility He gives to all mankind to care for and sustain His Creation. If we fail to accept our role of stewardship, the outcome, as we all are witnessing daily in our lives, is that the whole world reaps destruction from what mankind has neglected to do or has sown by our actions by taking from the earth without nurturing and replenishing the great bounty it supplies.

Today, there are many Christian leaders developing new programs designed to bring more people 'into the fold'. But, how many of us are going 'into the world' to be the change we want to see, especially when it comes to actively working toward the health and sustainability of our environment and natural resources.

By signing this petition, you are simple saying that you believe this is a the right thing for the Christian community at large to do. There's no time like right now to start making progress! Once this petition is closed, it will go in a letter to Christian leaders, churches, schools, and organization around the country, with the hopes it will encourage a grassroots movement to implement programs for environmental education and outreach, based on scripture, to be included in every mission and goal statement.
