Petition for the Firing of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki and Demand for Change in Future VA Appointment
All U.S. military veterans, past and present, their family members and supporters are called to arms to sign this petition to force the kind of change which is necessary to fix the corruption, incompetence, and medical malpractices which have gripped the Department of Veterans Affairs agency for entire decades.
The ongoing use of former military commanders, instead of qualified medical administration professionals to head the nations leading national healthcare and disability system has proven to be a disaster of epic proportions. We are here to stand up and be counted as saying "We've Had Enough" and "We want change for the better."
WE THE UNDERSIGNED DO SAY AND RESOLVE:
1. We have determined that the current administration of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs agency with Eric Shinseki seated as the VA Secretary is no longer acceptable to us as a voting constituency.
2. That the incompetencies, corrupt practices, and ongoing medical malpractices which have always been at the root of the problem at the VA, have fundamentally been allowed to thrive, grow, get worse, and spawn through new schemes and crimes largely at the hands of the Office of General Counsel, and often with the full knowledge of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.
3. That the basic concept of former military commanders heading the Department of Veterans Affairs is flawed, and has been given the test of time only to end in predictable failure and with even more chaos in the VA disability claims system than where it began.
4. We have determined that the time has come to make this demand for future VA Secretaries to be appointed from a pool of qualified, career medical administrators preferably with backgrounds either from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services agency or from the Center for Disease Control or other similar entity. This might include candidates formerly working with the U.S. Surgeon Generals Office.
5. And that we call for the immediate firing of current VA Secretary Eric Shinseki as soon as it can be arranged, with the new appointment qualifying as stated above as the new measure for his next replacement.
