AERA Policy: Graduate Student Chairs and Discussants
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It has come to our attention that AERA Council is considering banning graduate students from participating as Chairs and Discussants at the Annual Meeting
This petition supports maintaining the authority of Associations and SIGs to decide whether or not to include graduate students as Chairs and Discussants within their individual Annual Meeting programs.
Heartfelt thanks go out to the Social Justice Action Committee and the panelists of Session 66.012 for supporting the launch of this petition during their presentation.
Thank you for supporting graduate student learning through the performance of these leadership roles and in this way helping to transform our increasingly diverse research community into a more inclusive network.
