Ban practice of Employers ability to run credit reports

  • al: ANG1969
  • destinatario: No more credit reports to get a job.
When you are a potential candidate for a job, many employers run credit reports as a tool to decide your merit as a future employee. This is discriminatory. Many people have poor credit due to divorce, illness or other circumstances beyond their control. If you are barred from empoyment due to your credit rating you are unable to put the past behind you and repair the damage done to your credit rating.

So send a message to law makers that employers should be prohibited from running credit reports to determine your ability to do the job.
We the undersigned are requesting that government send a message to employers that it is discriminatory to order a potential candidate's credit report in order to determine future performance of that candidate.

There are many reasons credit reporting is poor. It could be due to a divorce, layoff, illness. All situations beyond a candidates control. It is difficult to pull oneself up and restore thier credit if they are limited to what jobs they can get.

We sincerely thank you in advance for evaluating and acting upon our request.
