Petition to Commute the Death Sentence of John Fautenberry

We, the undersigned, urge Governor Strickland to commute the sentence of Mr. John Fautenberry.

We deeply sympathize with all families of murder victims, but we respectfully offer that another death will neither heal nor resolve this tragedy.

Petition to Commute the Death Sentence of

John Fautenberry

 

We, the undersigned, urge Governor Strickland to commute the sentence of Mr. John Fautenberry.  

                       

John Fautenberry was sentenced to death in 1991 for aggravated murder. Fautenberry%u2019s counsel failed to communicate with the defendant and failed to conduct a reasonable investigation for mitigating evidence regarding his abusive upbringing and the possibility of organic brain damage. As a result, Fautenberry%u2019s trail was prejudiced because the jury did not hear evidence about his: personal struggle with, and his family%u2019s history of depression, the connection between his abusive childhood and the commission of these murders.

 

Action petitioned for:  We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our Governor to act now to commute the death sentence of John Fautenberry.
