Finally, after years cloaked in mystery, intrigue, and surreptious activity's some of the activities of this agency is coming to light. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/05/AR2009060503576.html?wprss=rss_nation
Here we are a couple months later and we discover that this agency has decided that a man convicted of kidnapping and rape serves 10 years and is released by this corrupt GOVERNMENT AGENCY, while I serve more than 22 years for Mail Fraud????  http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-kidnap-parole5-2009sep05,0,1752348.story?track=rss This is absolutely unbelievable, if they cannot be trusted to make sensible decisions regarding who to let out and who not...why are we, the taxpayers, paying their salaries and retirement packages? http://media.sacbee.com/smedia/2009/09/22/17/Garrido.source.prod_affiliate.4.pdf
I personally hope the new Chairman of the US Parole Commission comes in and does a thorough investigation into the illegal actions of this "little known" agency.

Possibly Mr. Fulwood will shine the light on this cloaked agency

and they will start releasing those prisoners illegally kept long past their discharge dates for the sole purpose of keeping the Parole Commission alive and able to draw their pensions.
Update for those that care...a Federal Court has ruled that this Parole Commission had entered a decision for the purpose of extending their jobs. Gee, imagine that!  They've been doing this for two decades!

"The federal Parole Commission denied clemency to a former Black Panther imprisoned in Atlanta to score political points that would extend the commission’s life, a federal judge said."
Chairman Furman:
As recently as two months ago I submitted a request to terminate this sentence I am presently serving.  This case is for a Mail Fraud that occurred in 1982 and is based solely upon fabricated testimony of informants.  I have served more than 22 years on a 20 year sentence.
There is absolutely no justifiable reason to continue supervision of me, my wife and my entire family into the next decade, as your officers have done for the past two decades.  The guidelines for this sentence are 34-44 months, the Sentencing Guidelines are 34-46 months. I have served TWENTY-TWO years.
     Please end this inhumane sentence.
     Kind Regards,
     Mark W. Schmanke
