Make my vote count!

If you've ever been blue in a red state, you know that America's electoral college system can basically invalidate your vote for US president. If you voted for Al Gore in 2000, you also know that the guy who gets the most votes doesn't necessarily get to be president.

This is all because of America's deeply flawed winner-takes-the-whole-state electoral system which aggregates votes at the state level rather than simply giving one vote to every voter. But help is on the way in the form of the National Popular Vote bill which guarantees that whoever wins the popular vote will actually serve as president.

GOPs fear the National Popular Vote bill because it will give proportional power to big cities, forcing all candidates to campaign and make promises in communities with (gasp!) large minority populations. Despite criticism, the NPV bill already has 49% of the votes it needs to succeed. Tell your state lawmakers to pass the NPV bill.
We the undersigned ask that you immediately pass the National Popular Vote bill so that we can be the democracy we say we are. The US has been busy telling the rest of the world that a democratic government is the most sustainable model. And we're right about that, but we still have an electoral system that does not guarantee the race to the candidate with the most votes. You have the ability to remedy this grave inconsistency. Please sign the NPV bill today!
