More and more consumers today are becoming aware of the long term cons of using styrofoam for food and packaging. I believe that restaurants choose styrofoam because it is cheaper in the long run, but do not understand the long term damage caused to the environment in the long run. Moreover, some people are still unwittingly microwaving their styrofoam packed food, which creates great toxins.
1. I would boycott restaurants that use styrofoam.
2. Alternatively, I could bring in my own packaging, just as people are using cloth, plastic, etc. bags of their own when they go shopping.
