The Winnipeg Humane Society wants to undertake a pro-bono challenge to
The Residential Tenancies Act which
allows landlords to forbid pets in apartments. As a result,
hundreds of the animals are rendered homeless as a result of the application of sections of this legislation. This often results in extensive suffering for both owners and their pets, and frequently, these animals end up in the care of the WHS. WHS has a test case and want to show that this aspect of the legislation is
unnecessary and
unreasonable.
