Traffic Lights at Northwood & Hammonds Plains Rd
Due to the increase in volume of traffic along Hammonds Plains Road and continuing growth of subdivisions in Highland Park, it has become increasingly difficult and increasingly dangerous to enter and exit the Highland Park subdivision, particularly at Hammonds Plains and Northwood crossroads. It is nigh on impossible for pedestrians to make their way to the bus stops safely and some form of crossing is imperative for their safety. The increase in volume has also affected residents of Yankeetown from entering and exiting their subdivision in a timely manner and with safety and an installation of traffic lights at Northwood would help this situation as well. We would like to see traffic lights installed at Northwood and Hammonds Plains forthwith. As well as installation of traffic lights, the existing speed limit of 90km should be lowered to 80km between Stillwater Lake Drive and Rockcliffe and a section between Northwood and Yankeetown being reduced to 70km to ensure the safety of pedestrians and people standing at bus stops.
