Urge Libya to Put Megrahi Under House Arrest

Scottish justice minister Kenny Mac Askill announced Thursday the liberation of Syrian terrorist Abdelaset Ali Mohamed Al-Megrahi on "compassionate" grounds. Megrahi was the only person convicted for the 1988 bombing of a Boeing 747 jet owned by Pan Am. The jet exploded over the Scottish village of Lockerbie, killing 270 people, including 189 Americans. Megrahi left his prision cell today (August 20th) on a health pardon. He was flown to Libya and greeted with a heros welcome and parade. Libyans chanted about his greatness and how he will never be blemished in the eyes of the faithful. If all of this seems morbid if not dangerous to you please express your opinions to the Scottish and British parliaments, and tell them show compassion and understanding to the relatives of those lost on the Pan Am bombing rather than a terrorist. And urge the parliaments to press Libya to put Megrahi under house arrest.
We the undersigned urge the leadership of the Scottish and British parliaments to exert all political and legal pressure on Libya to put Megrahi under house arrest and to not propagate his image to the Islamic world. This man is a terrorist who killed 270 incorrect civilians and should have been jailed till death. Many members of those lost in the Pan Am flight feel broken and now betrayed. We must be tough on those who kill innocent people, and we must do what is right. We also express are disappointment in your decision to release Megrahi and hope you will practice better caution in the future.
