North Korea, Don't Punish Losing Olympians!

North Korean Olympic athletes are picked by the Communist Party's Sports Committee at a very young age, where they are trained at special schools. They are provided daily meals and even spending money at times, and are treated like elites on a national level.

Athletes have to go through ideological training, where four hours per week are spent developing loyalty to their leader and to the country of North Korea.

Winning athletes get rewards like cars and refrigerators, whereas losers get punished. Especially when it's losing to United States or South Korea, losers are sometimes sent directly to labor camps, where 200,000 prisoners are reported to be doing difficult physical labor in harsh conditions. Sometimes athletes are expelled from their sports organizations and sent to labor camps for being declared "disloyal" to North Korea as well.

Please tell North Korea not to punish losing Olympians!

Dear North Korea Government,

I am writing to you today concerning the Olympic Games. It is reported that the North Korean government uses labor camps as a tool to get athletes to win. If they lose, especially to the US or South Korea, they are often sent to labor camps with 200,000 other prisoners to do hard labor in harsh conditions.

This is a violation of human rights and is not fair, nor right. Please do not punish losing Olympians.
