End news networks' monetary gain from tragedies

During a CNN live coverage of the Las Vegas shooting, a massacre that affected many lives, the network decided to run seven ads sponsored by huge corporations (Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper) and the American Beverage Association. These ads totaled five minutes, and were played every five minutes during the time the shooting occurred. This was a disgusting and immoral act by CNN that they must be held responsible for; a blatantly disrespectful act to those affected by the tragedy that the network knowingly greenlit. There must be restrictions put in place by the government that punishes this sort of abhorrent act of greed by the mainstream media. I think that news networks should not play TV ads during coverage of a large-scale tragedy, as a show of respect to the dead and wounded.
