Against The Wars? Let's Make The Wars a Tax Issue

It is our purpose to make the ongoing Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq a public issue, and by so doing, end the Wars. For far too long, our Government, private interests and the media have been able to "sanitize" the Wars and keep them from being an inconvenience to the American People. Our goal is to "cut out" the middle man and put the Wars on a pay-as-you-go basis. We hope to accomplish this by calling on Congress and The House of Representatives to pass a "War Tax" of $2.00 a gallon on the sale of all gasoline and diesel fuel sold in America. This will be a daily, in your face reminder to the American people that every day, brave young men and women are putting themselves in danger. We have all the time in the world to argue about the Wars and the reasons we're fighting, but every day these wars continue is another reason for shame. I call on everyone to remember that The American Revolution, despite all the verbiage about Freedom, was only accomplished when the populous got upset about taxation. Will Congress pass this into law? Not a snowballs chance- BUT it will put the powers that be into an "interesting" position- let's see how they refuse to pay for wars they claim are necessary.
