Ban the use of the whip in Horse Racing!

Racehorses suffer in many different ways - one of them being whipped repeatedly during a race. The whip is used to "encourage" the horse to work harder, but has not been proven to show any relationship between the whip and the horse actually winning the race.
Simply, the horse is put through constant pain (wounds in the skin, deformation of tissues) just so they can win a race, when in fact evidence has shown that horses are more likely to fall if they've been whipped!

By signing this petition we can get the attention of the British Horseracing Authority to completely rethink their rules on the whip and ban it entirely! The BHA need to stop making excuses as to why the whip is actually needed.
Please sign this petition to improve the lives of racehorses all over the UK. This is just a small part of the pain and suffering they go through and by doing this we aim to continue to improve the well-being of UK racehorses regarding even bigger matters and concerns.
