#1. This petition is NOT a slight to Avril Lavigne and is meant in no way to disbarrage her or her music. I'm an avid fan and always will be.
#2. This petition is for the benefit of her fans for her future concert tours which will be as awesome as all of her other tours have been! :)
#3. This petition is meant to show Avril that Live Nation is inexperienced when it comes to being a ticket broker. Their contract with Ticketmaster is set to expire at the end of 2008. That means that if tickets are sold through Live Nation, they WILL NOT be available through Ticketmaster. That could mean bad news for Avril Fans.
Here is a brief rundown about what happened. 11/07 I purchased tickets for Avril's Las Vegas show on 4/29. 4/21 I finally found out that there was a problem with the tickets. I had to find this out. Live Nation never called or e-mailed me. I was the one that had to find out (too late) that there was a problem with the tickets. So, there it is. I'm not sure if Live Nation will get better and I honestly think it'll get worse before it gets better, since they don't have the experience outside of concert promotion. I think they need to stick to what they're good at, promoting concerts and running venues. Again, this is not an afront to Avril, just Live Nation.
The people who signed this petition are your fans who have either had problems with Live Nation in the past or want to avoid problems in the future. We are not here to disparage you in any way, shape or form.
Live Nation is a concert promotion company who had a partnership with Ticketmaster, which is set to expire at the end of 2008. Live Nation was responsible for some pre-sale and VIP packages for your Best Damn Thing tour. A lot of your fans (including me) had problems with the tickets coming from Live Nation. We believe that there may be future problems if Live Nation is left to be in charge of ticketing. They simply don't have the ticketing experience that a company like Ticketmaster has.
Now, please know that we in no way blame you. You are a fantastic artist and we will certainly enjoy the rest of The Best Damn Tour and your future concerts. I know that I personally have enjoyed seeing you live 3 times and look forward to more shows. I just want to make sure that your fans enjoy the entire process from buying the tickets to leaving your show. So, you go on creating fabulous albums and ROCK ON!
