Ask Irish President to Support Animal Welfare Bill!

  • al: Chris Wolverton
  • destinatario: Michael D. Higgins, President of Ireland

Ireland's new Animal Health and Welfare Bill updates and replaces existing laws which, in some cases, are over a century old.

The Bill has already been passed by both Houses and now requires the President's signature to become law. It represents a great step forward in Ireland's animal rights legislation: it includes provisions to prevent animal abusers from keeping animals, strengthens laws against dog fighting and sets requirements for the proper care and feeding of animals. The new laws would apply to rural as well as urban areas, and domestic as well as commercial animals.

Please sign the petition to urge Ireland's president to sign the Animal Health and Welfare Bill into law!

As you know, Ireland's new Animal Health and Welfare Bill updates and replaces existing laws which, in some cases, are over a century old.

The Bill has already been passed by both Houses and now requires your signature to become law.

Animals feel physical and emotional pain just as humans do, and their health and care means a great deal to pet owners. Exploiting and killing animals for monetary gain and entertainment should not be condoned in Ireland. We respectfully urge you to sign the Animal Health and Welfare Bill into law!
