Change the term

The term hysterectomy is outdated, and offensive. I don't want the connotation of "removing my hysteria" on my medical record.

Ther term hysterectomy comes from the Greek word hyster meaning Womb.  However, when doctors first began to remove the womb in the 1800's, it was thought that her hormonal changes and behaviors would disappear with it.  Her "hysteria" would go away.  Well, we know that is not the case, and the Latin term Uterus, is a more friendly and widely used term for the same body part.  So I suggest changing the name hysterectomy, to a less offensive one like "uterectomy".  oophorectomy will still mean removing the ovaries, and the question of "how much of a hysterectomy?" has someone had, will not be in question.  Instead of "complete hysterectomy" you will have a uterectomy, and/or oophorectomy, as it should be.

For those who have been offended or put off by my petition, i changed the wording of it.  Whether you care or not, I am tired of all the negativity.  If you can's say something nice, keep it to yourself.
