2 African-American men were discriminated against, denied service, and arrested although no charges were ever filed just because they were black!!! Both real estate agents entered the Philadelphia area STARBUCKS and asked to use the bathroom. The waitress/barista told them that the bathroom was for paying customers only. So both men sat at a table and waited for their client to arrive at the scheduled meeting place for all of them. Unfortunately, the waitress/barista thought they were loitering or planning to rob the store. Note the only reason she thought this was because both men were black!!! So she called the police and had both men arrested for criminal trespassing! While this event would not be unexpected in 1950's Mississippi-it is most definitely unexpected in 2018 Philadelphia! Unless of course you are hanging out in the KKK's favorite restaurant-STARBUCKS!!!! This racist behavior cannot and will not be tolerated precisely because we no longer live in 1950's Mississippi and racial attitudes have changed! Silence is acceptance! And not taking a stand is entirely unacceptable! If you feel the same the same way, then signing this petition is the very least you can do!
