Demanding UN Resolution to Protect Al-Aqsa Mosque

To the President of the UN Security Council, Mr. Vasily Nebenzya

Greeting,

On Wednesday, the fifth of April, the Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Jerusalem in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, assaulted and arrested hundreds of worshippers inside it in a repeated scene, while two ministers in the occupation government called for an escalation against the Palestinians in global silence that warns of catastrophic future repercussions.

We are submitting this petition signed by Muslim nations around the world, which is demanding the issuance of a resolution to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and ensure its appropriate enforcement mechanisms, to include the permanent presence of peacekeeping forces patrols in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to enable the Palestinian authorities to install special cameras to cover all its features.

Since the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque holds special sanctity and is associated with the most important events in the Islamic calendar, we believe that this decision would ensure the preservation of Islamic sacred places and deter attempts by the occupation army to distort them and attack their visitors.

We call on the member states of the Security Council to denounce the violations of the Israeli army and to support the international efforts seeking to achieve independence for the people of Palestine with aims of ensuring stability in the Middle East region.

Thank you,
