Oppose oil exploration and offshore drilling off the coast of Georgia

Last year, the federal Bureau of Ocean and Energy management released its draft plan to lease ocean land for oil and gas development off the Atlantic coast from Virginia through Georgia. The exploration for oil using seismic testing could have a damaging effect on our ocean mammals, sea life and the environment in general. As you know the right whale uses the waters off south Georgia and north Florida as a breeding ground. Additionally, no new jobs would be a result of this initiative and endangers our coastal tourism.
