Speaker McCarthy and his MAGA cronies are holding an economic gun to our nation's head and are trying to extort devastating spending cuts out of the White House — or else they'll pull the trigger and throw our entire economy into a tailspin.
We CANNOT give in to this kind of legislative terrorism from bad-faith actors like McCarthy and his puppet-masters, Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Reports out of Washington D.C. say that the White House is considering agreeing to a two-year cap on spending — which would be disastrous. 60,000 people would not be able to attend college; 200,000 children would get kicked off Head Start; 100,000 families would lose child care; and 1.2 million people would be removed from WIC nutrition assistance. 430,000 would be evicted from Section 8 housing.
There are other options available to us that don't involve giving McCarthy what he wants and legitimizing his preposterous demands. We need to stand strong against Republican tyranny and make them pay the price for refusing to do their jobs and fund the US government.
