The Reserved List was a policy Wizards of the Coast created many years ago. It promised the community that Wizards would not reprint certain cards, in order to maintain stability in the value of those cards.
However, the Reserved List has ultimately had a far more negative effect on the game than anyone could initially have understood. Legacy staples are absurdly expensive due to the high demand and frozen supply. These prices have created an extremely high cost of entry into Legacy, inarguably Magic's most diverse and vibrant format.
Despite these negative effects, Wizards has stated they will maintain the Reserved List. Their rationale? Simply that the List was a promise. And, as a company, they cannot break their promises. Even though the promise is currently restricting their business and the dedicated community of players.
Let's let Wizards know that, while we appreciate their dedication to being a truthful business, we want them to break this particular promise!
Abolishing the Reserved List would give Wizards of the Coast freedom to reprint all these older cards at their discretion. This would make Legacy staples more accessible, and allow this wonderful format to grow organically.
