Demand that the uniform policy for all Calcasieu Parish Public Schools be overturned!

We demand Calcasieu Parish School Board eliminate the uniform policy for all Calcasieu Parish Public Schools. There is no concrete evidence that uniforms alter children's behavior, education nor do they prevent bullying. Parents and guardians need to be involved with decision-making when it comes to our children and their education. It's been proven that countries with the highest academic level, do not wear uniforms.
Uniforms are a distraction. Teachers spend time and energy policing uniforms when they could presumably be teaching the students.
Uniforms cause students to lose their self identity, and they are a financial burden for families.
When the uniform policy was originally implement, the intentions were well, however, parents did not get a choice with the decision making.
