I have no problem with well-mannered responsible cyclists. However there is an ever increasing number riding dangerously, through red lights, and at speed on shared footpaths and through pedestrian crossings. There has also been a large increase in the numbers riding against the law on non shared footpaths, again quite often at speed. As it presently stands in NSW if a cyclist doesn’t stop after an accident, the pedestrian or motor vehicle driver has no way of identifying that person and for this reason, adult cyclists should be made to prominently display a mandatorily acquired licence.
