Yes, we've all been there. Feed the fish bread to see them appear and to enjoy the show. But ever thought that it is bad for them?
We should start educating ourselves and future generations ahead about these little details that can make a big difference for the fish, but also our environment and ourselves.
While climate change has an effect on the waters temperature or while the Lionfish has spread tremendously, we as humans can start by making a change in something else. Stop with feeding fish human foods, especially bread!
Bread contains yeast and when eaten by fish, it will expand and can cause constipation for most fish. The most resilient fish will survive however others will disappear as they suffer and the predators take them. People feeding the fish think it is amazing to see so many fish so close but if they look at the big picture, they would realize the damage they are causing.
