Demand Justice, Let our Dreamers live their Dream!

The NASW Code of Ethics promotes the well-being of a social worker's client and advocate for justice. The proposed policy change of supporting the DREAM Act serves the values of the profession because it demands equity and opportunities to enhance security for a subtle population.

Children who reside in the U.S for years because of their parent's illegal action are penalized and restricted from opportunities citizens receive. Human rights are being violated and youths are being discriminated based on their status. Individuals who wishes to pursue higher education are deprived from their educational rights due to lack of financial assistance. In 2001, Developmental, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act was introduced demanding higher education rights for undocumented residents. There is no American Dream without Dreamers. The act proposes restrictive permanent residency to certain immigrants who graduates high school within the United States and display positive characteristics. The DREAM Act will provide resources for these scholars to excel in future endeavors and benefit our economy. Support the DREAM Act, Let the dreams turn into Reality!
