A Dixon, KY family is outraged today after their neighbor admitted to killing their puppy with a pitchfork. Andrea Searcy, 44, has lived in Dixon for a little over three years. Her neighbors say they had always been friendly to each other.
.These puppies were a part of the Austin family. There were ten, until they started going missing one by one. "She" is 44 year old Andrea Searcy. An anonymous caller contacted Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield on Friday with a disturbing tip.
On Friday, Jan 6, 2012, Sheriff Springfield confronted Searcy with the information, he says she readily admitted her crime. Authorities say Searcy told them the puppies were in her yard.
The Austins believe the other three missing puppies, may have met a similar fate. The six remaining puppies are now in a shelter, but the Austins were hoping to find a home for the animals themselves.
So now the Austins are left with their anger and a bloodstain, as a reminder of the puppies they loved and lost.
Searcy remains in the Webster County Jail. She faces a charge of animal cruelty. The Austins hope she is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
