Milam County: Pursue Full Justice for 82 Neglected Animals at Dogtown Ranch

On October 6, a Texas sheriff's office served an arrest warrant on the owner of Dogtown Ranch and Sanctuary near Rockdale, and 82 animals were surrendered. The Brandywine Valley SPCA took them all in. One of them, a dog named Baby Reina, was found to have worms, dehydration, fleas, ticks, and malnutrition, and a veterinary exam described substantial, long-standing unmet medical and nutritional needs.

The owner, Angela Sera, is charged with one count of cruelty to non-livestock animals, a Class A misdemeanor. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven otherwise in court. But 82 animals were living in a place that called itself a sanctuary, and investigators first inspected the property in July.

I'm Eric from I Love Every Dog, and I'm asking Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore and the Milam County prosecutor handling this case to follow the evidence wherever it leads. Please consider whether additional charges are warranted for each animal, and please make sure the dogs and cats taken in stay in the care of the SPCA rather than returning to the property.

People donate to sanctuaries because they believe the animals inside are safe. Baby Reina and the other 81 deserve a legal outcome that reflects what they went through.

Please sign and ask Milam County to treat this as the serious case it is.
