DEMAND ASSAULTING/KILLING K9 OFFICERS TO BE A FELONY

Recently, a 17 year old in Cass County, MO was being pursued by police and a K9 officer was chasing him. The suspect attacked the K9 officer with a knife to his neck. He may only have to spend 15 days in jail for this, if any jail time at all. Missouri has some of the worst animal protection laws I've seen. This K9 officer risks his life, just like his handler does everyday, and although he didn't volunteer for it, he gives everything he's got to carry out his duties. Please sign and share this petition demanding it to be a felony to assault or kill a K9 officer, which would be a lot more jail time. 15 days is a joke! Others states have implemented these laws and it's time MO gets on board, too.
