On May 19, 2006, we were given the wonderful animated comedy film Over the Hedge, which starred Bruce Willis, Garry Shandling, Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, and Nick Nolte.
On March 24, 2016, we sadly received the news that Garry Shandling, who voiced Verne, had died of a heart attack at age 66.
Today, I am making this petition to receive tons of signatures to convince DreamWorks to begin production on a 25-minute Christmas TV special titled Over the Hedge: Deck the Hedges, which will be dedicated to Garry Shandling. In this special, Verne has been sick with some kind of turtle flu and, in the middle of the special, dies of his illness, which leads to the animals having his funeral, where he is put in a casket and left to rest in a river, leaving behind his shell. In the meantime, Vincent, Gladys, and Dwayne could return for revenge. At the end, RJ defeats Vincent in Verne's honor, once again getting the bad guys arrested.
I just think this will be a good idea, so I implore all of you to share this on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Keep up the signatures and spreading news of this petition, and we may just get our wish granted!
