There are many people in south eastern asia, who slaughter animals illegally for selling, they kill animals in poor facilities and very bad sanitary conditions. The animals are suffered and being slaughtered in non humane way just to lower the cost from live to meat.
It's unrealistic to convince people not to eat meat or to become vegetarians but we can choose to eat healthier and protecting the only animal rights is to protect ourselves.
