Stop putting harmful toxins in the inviroment

The city of Capitola and the Monte family (Deluxe Foods) are setting off fireworks every year on the wharf in Capitola. Is this bad for our ocean and environment. Is it bad for our health and our childrens health. According to NN Earth Matters: Although fleeting and infrequent, fireworks shows spray out a toxic concoction that rains down quietly into the ocean, lakes and rivers thoughout the country. Many of the chemicals in fireworks are also persistent in the environment, meaning they stubbornly sit there instead of breaking down. That's how mercury from coal emissions wind up in fish, and it's how DDT thinned bald eagles eggshells in 1970.  Please sign this petition so it can be sent to the City of Capitola and the Monte family, that we want to keep our environment clean of these toxins, let them know this is more important than 20 minutes of selfish pleasure. Please stand up and do the right thing for our earth and all inhabitants that live here and will continue to live here.
