FREE THE SOUTH

Chase Findley inmate # 00355554 arrested and imprisoned in South Carolina Detention Center in August 2011 was a 16 year old child tried as an adult  currently serving 15 year sentence. Was wronfully over charged with 1st degree burglary, armed robbery and fire arms provision (these charges don't fit the nature of the crime and definately not Chase's involvement). He was excessively sentenced due to unfair minimum sentencing laws in the state of South Carolina.  He was 16 living with his 20 year old brother at the time.  Zackery Findley 00351061 (serving 20 years)was not even a fully developed adult made a decision to  handle a vendetta with an ex roommate with 3 friends & little brother Chase with him. This led to excessive charges for all people involved  due to the grandfather of  the victim having affiliations with those in Beaufort County SC Criminal System  because he was a retired sheriff in that county. They wereall made an example out of never given a fair trial from the start.. Cody Johnson #353838 another adolescent who was unfairly charged and convicted of similar crimes is serving over 12 years at SCDC. He also was improperly treated as minor in court and unjustly convicted. William Camp in mid 30s in 2011 sentenced to 12 years for 20 dollar crack rock sale  to an undercover cop 2 years prior in which he alsi fearfully pleaded  and had to agree to no parole. Again currently  sentenced to another 12 years set up by under cover agent while incarcerated. Instead of being proved with essential rehabilitation punitive punishment creating further harm. WE ARE LIVING IN PERILOUS TIMES THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA REFUSES TO PASS CRIMINAL REFORM DESPITE OF THIS FACT. ALL PEOPLE CONVICTED OF ",VIOLENT CRIMES"  have to serve 85% of their time and are ineligible for parole regardless if first offense, age, or circumstances. Their state laws  prevent a child's age or circumstances from being considered causing excessive sentencing of 12 years to life whatever the adult minimum sentencing  requirement is. This is a direct violation of Federal Supreme Court rulings regarding juveniles yet the South does not care. Public defenders inadequately represented Chase, Zackery, Cody, William, and so many others like them using fear tactics to obtain guilty plea often the threat of life imprisonment.  Those with money can afford and hire attorney to serve their interests to get charges dropped or reduced, and rarely serve much time, and able to obtain parole.  Most incarcerated are living in inhumane conditions already, but serving murder time for unthoughtful misguided decisions made as adolescents or due to the disease of addiction is plain unjust corrupt politics. South Carolina allows middle age pedophiles convicted of lude acts with 16 year old minors  to be eligible for parole after only serving a couple years. Chase, Zackery,Cody, William, countless others in the State of South Carolina and other southern states have served far beyond the time they deserve and should have their freedom.They shouldn't lose their life due to  inadequate measures taken of Covid-19, not to mention prison corruption and violence. This is ultimately cruel and unusual punishment. Over 9 years hard time  is more than some people who have been charged with attempted murder or  even taken a life serve.  Covid-19 has forced ignored issues to come to light one of them being the unfair disparity between the rich and poor when it comes to the criminal system. Which plays a major role into the racial disparity within the system as well.  Please stand  for the abolishment of excessive punitive measures taken in all US States that practice  such  unjust laws. Let's finally hold the Southern States responsible that continue to enslave people in the guise of crime and think they can get away with it.  CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT MUST CEASE. GOVERNORS,  STATE SENATORS, HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES, JUDGES, LAWYERS, PRISON DIRECTORS, WARDENS, GUARDS, ETC MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
