Proposed Change to MS Teacher Dress Code

We would like to propose removing the tie requirement from the "male teachers" portion of the MS faculty handbook. This proposal is supported by the majority of male teachers and backed by research that shows a correlation between work comfort and productivity and morale. As we, as in institution, continue to grow and seek out the "why" behind the "what we do", we ask that this requirement that was instituted years ago become optional.
We propose instead either a collared, button-down shirt OR a Calvert polo shirt be used instead.
