Demand 64-Bit Server Transfers in Dungeons & Dragons Online--NOW
Many Dungeons & Dragons Online players are trapped in 64-bit worlds they don’t want to play on—unable to move to the other new 64-bit options when they decide the population, server experience, and group-finding conditions aren’t acceptable.
This problem began when Cormyr launched and a hardcore event was hosted on a VIP-only server. Over time, many players consolidated to Cormyr for better performance and community. While developers opened 64-bit transfers so players could move from 32-bit worlds into 64-bit worlds, players who became bound to 64-bit worlds were never given a real opportunity to leave for Shadowdale or Thrane (the other new 64-bit worlds).
As a result, unhappy players are increasingly abandoning their characters and moving on. The situation is only worsening: low population density and the server experience are becoming harder day by day—especially on Cormyr, where finding groups is already difficult. And the “barrier to transfers” means players can’t correct course when a server isn’t working for them.
We demand that the developers of DDO finish the process and open 64-bit server transfers for players—so bound characters can move freely between 64-bit worlds. Continuing to delay this issue risks long-term damage to the player base, community health, and activity availability. Players are already protesting with their wallets: refusing to pay for VIP subscriptions and future expansions when the basic ability to choose where you play is withheld. This cannot remain on the back burner any longer.
