INITIATIVE ON BEHALF OF BULGARIAN CITIZENS LIVING PERMANENTLY ABROAD
Subject: Stop the racketeering law for all Bulgarians living abroad through the Health Insurance Act
As Bulgarian citizens living permanently abroad, We insist, Bulgaria to reconsider and/or terminate this non-sense law for Bulgarians abroad through changes in the Health Insurance Act.
Under the Health Insurance Act Bulgarian citizens who live abroad for more than 183 days in one calendar year, failed to file a pre-application for exemption from payments of mandatory health insurance contributions for the period after 01.01.2005 may do so by December 31 2012, submit their declaration (http://www.nap.bg/page?id=221). By setting a deadline, The Bulgarian State aims to make charges for health insurance contributions from previous years in the future liabilities of the Bulgarian citizens living abroad and according to same they will not be required to pay health insurance contributions. However, if you refuse to contribute to this outrageous Government scheme, the same will begin collecting these "obligations" using an administrative and/or judicial order.
