Stop glorifying genocide!

In Peoria, in Laura Bradley park to be exact, there is a statue of a man who is responsible for rape, theft of land, and murder of hundreds of thousands, if not more, people. This man came to America and took over with his men. He is responsible for bloodshed of men women and children. Yet we pay him homage by allowing a statue to stand in a place where people traveling through a beautiful park will be forced to see. This statue is of Christopher Columbus and it needs to be removed! No longer will we sit idly by as Peoria glorifies the beginning of white supremacy in this country. We have to take a stand. Now more than ever we need to come together and do what we can to get this atrocity removed. I don't expect anyone to go beyond their means or tear it down themselves, but signing this petition will let the park district know that we will not be silent about this. We need to address this issue and the only way to do so is head-on. Will you sign and share?
