Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been named in a 'crack cocaine' scandal. In a video circulating to major news outlets, the mayor of Canada's largest city allegedly appears to be smoking the drug and referring to his Liberal rival as a "fag."
This type of controversy is detracting from important issues at Toronto City Hall. How can constituents pay attention to real issues that affect them when their Mayor is constantly acting out in an unprofessional, bigoted and arguably criminal way?
As the leader of Canada's largest city, Mayor Ford has the responsibility to be a law-abiding citizen that behaves in ways that positively reflect his constituents. Smoking crack cocaine and referring to fellow politicians in a derogatory manner is no way for an elected official to conduct himself.

Recent allegations against you are just one in a string of controversies that you have faced while leading the city of Toronto.
You deny these current, and very serious allegations, calling them "ridiculous", yet you continue to act with disrespect towards the media and the public. Toronto needs to trust its elected officials. Mayor Ford, you owe Toronto an explanation. Be honest and tell the city what has or has not happened.
These antics and accusations distract from the important issues that Toronto needs to spend energy on. Mayor Ford, this latest incident is alarming and Toronto deserves a Mayor that is a law-abiding, honest, and respectful citizen.
