That's the justification this fur-trapper gave when asked why he
brutally tortured, beat, and finally crushed a helpless fox after the entire gruesome event was
caught on tape.
Please sign the petition to demand a ban on fur trapping in the UK!The footage is almost too heartbreaking to watch. A fox that was caught in a snare trap, a notoriously inhumane method of wildlife capture, is seen lying near a road. His captor
beats him repeatedly with a wooden bat. His sloppy and brutal attempts leave the fox alive, so the trapper
drags the poor animal to the side of the road. There, he uses his boot and the hard concrete to slowly crush the fox to death. The fox was then taken to be skinned and its fur sold for £15, or about $18.
Fur farming in the United Kingdom has been illegal since 2000, banned by legislation that recognized how cruel and unnecessary the practice was.
But the trapping of wild animals for their pelts, including foxes, is still legal. This is a loophole, plain and simple. If it is illegal for an animal to be born and bred for its fur,
it should also be illegal to take a wild animal's life for the same reason.This is the purest form of cruelty, but the Parliament of the United Kingdom could eliminate it in one fell swoop. Sign the petition to demand they pass a law banning all fur trapping in the UK!
