We have many hydrants with white curbs next to them throughout Woodbury. Many residents and their guests don't know that you are not allowed to park within 15 feet of a hydrant, even if the curb is white. Elite Services Patrol is extremely aggressive in towing cars that are even 1 foot closer than the allowed 15 feet. There are no warnings, just an immediate tow. Drivers shouldn't have to travel with tape measures to make sure their cars are safe. Having red curbs will be the best way for residents/guests to know the limits of where they can park and will prevent inadvertent blocking of fire hydrants.
We want the HOA Board to:
1. Paint all curbs in Woodbury in front of fire hydrants red 15 feet out in each direction so that:
a. Residents/guests know with absolute certainty where they may park and where they may not;
b. A fire engine's access to a hydrant in case of emergency is never inadvertently obstructed
2. HOA to instruct Elite Patrol Services to utilize reasonable discretion to the benefit of the residents and their guests prior to towing. Ex: give warnings
3. An inquiry to be sent from the HOA Board to Elite Patrol Services to ascertain whether any monetary compensation flows to Elite from the towing company for each towed vehicle and the HOA Board to present an answer at the following board meeting.
