URGENT: Stop Habitat Destruction

Davglade Pty Ltd have made a submission to Great Lakes Council for the approval to clear eight hectares of mature Swamp Sclerophyll Forest that is considered endangered.
It is to make way for a 57 unit housing development which consists of three seperate, three storey buildings with underground parking. The entire development stretches over 66m in elocogically precious bushland. 
A considerable colony of Sqirrel Gliders, one of six fauna species identified are using the site and surrounding forest. There is also anecdotal evidence that suggests it it has been used as a wildlife corriodor by Quolls.
Not only this but the developer is failing to comply with other environmental requirements which need to be allocated in the plan. This includes not showing the trees located on the site; the species and their height. This particular site and surrounding forest is a already depleted vital carbon sink for the area.

This is also a social issue as the complex is out of character and ambience with the adjacent single storey residential community. The plan shows the underground parking isn't completely underground making the complex practically four storeys. This exceeds the council regulation and original height claimed by the developer in the submission. This can easily become an invasion of privacy as occupants of the housing development could literally see straight into the adjacent properties backyards. Many residents have already put their properties on the market with the fear of market devalue within the sub-division as well as quality of life. Issues such as sewerage and drainage are still in question.

This will ruin the local ecosystem as well as the aesthetics of the surrounding area and the small coastal town of forster as a whole.This incredulous development needs to be stopped, NOW.
