I believe that it is unjust to let students get away with heinous acts with minimum punishment. A specific example at the school I attend is a student has gotten away with doing dangerous and unacceptable things for many years at my school, and it is time to make a change to this issue. We need to eliminate the source of a majority of the problems that my school is facing. We have to show that we care about what his actions mean to us. These actions include: threatening other students, posting violence-related pictures on social media, cussing out a teacher on social media, involvement with illegal substances, setting a fire in a classroom, and transporting a girl (during school hours) to do drugs and drink alcohol. This is a list of the many things that he has done, and he has only been given suspensions and warnings. Considering the magnitude of these actions, his punishments have been very lax. For example, he has been given the chance to make up all of his work after both of his suspensions. We need to show that we want students to face the true consequences of their actions because they pose a risk to many of the students at my school and other schools in my area.
