Standing Up for Equality to All

This petition stands up for the refugee population and allows them to access resources such as food, transportation and a safe place to live within the United States. Every year individuals, families and children are turned away from entering the US when they need us most. If you sign this petition you agree that all people deserve the right to live a happy, productive and safe life.

Right now there are bills like H.R 81 that are trying to discriminate against certain refugees coming to the US and receiving help (Congress.Gov, 2017). Sadly, more than 50 % of refugees are under the age of 18 years old (www.dosomething.org). We want policy makers to know that we don't support the discrimination of any refugees and just like everyone else they deserve equality. According to National Association of Social workers In order to fight for social justice one must speak up for the rights of others being oppressed or vulnerable (NASW Social Work Code of Ethics Values ,2008). By upholding this principle and the value of service to refugees we can help address the social issues surrounding immigration (NASW Social Work Code of Ethics Values ,2008) .
