If Washington Won't Defend the Constitution, the States Must

Trump is shredding the Constitution, Congressional Republicans are cheering him on, and the Supreme Court isn't doing a damn thing to stop him.

If Washington Won't Defend the Constitution, the States Must Join Together to Do it

Too many Americans are still acting as if this is just politics as usual.  It's not.  And with federal guardrails all but gone, states must step in.

Governors, state attorneys general, and other key officials who still believe in the Constitution should form a Constitutional defense pact: a coordinated, lawful effort to protect elections, civil liberties, public servants, and the rule of law from presidential abuse of power.

That means coordinating lawsuits.  Working together against attacks that cross state lines.

And if another state requests help protecting elections, public safety, or constitutional rights from actual attacks, other states should provide lawful mutual aid: legal teams, cybersecurity support, emergency personnel, election protection resources, and, where necessary to prevent viloence, National Guard or state emergency support.

This is not about partisanship. It is about defending the Constitution.  And if red states want to join in, great.  But if they can't even take the simple step of pledging to defend the Constitution, that itself will speak volumes.
